At 12-BM we have access to additional equipment that may be of use to Users. Also Available to the Users are two Laboratory spaces - a Dry Lab (Pellet Press, Tools, Counter Space) and a Wet Lab (Chemical use, Gas Flow, Fume Hood, Safety Eye/Shower).


Glovebox in XSD-CMS

Argon atmosphere glovebox is available for beamlines of XSD-CMS group users as well as other trained users. It is located in drylab (Bldg/Rm 433/E020). To schedule use of the glovebox, please contact Alexis Quental at [email protected]. Priority is given to users with scheduled beamtime at XSD-CMS beamlines. The users from other beamlines should contact their beamline scientists (the email notification by beamline scientist is highly recommended). Please allow 24 hours to confirm your request.

All glovebox users need to have the following:


Hutch Equipment

  • O2 Monitor
  • Ventilated Hutch, No HEPA Filter

Experimental Equipment

  • Gas Cabinet Capability (2 Gases) - High Concentration (H2, CO, Methane, etc.)
  • Mass Flow Controller (4 Gases) - Low/High Concentration (O2, CO, H2, He)

  • Argon Atmosphere Glovebox
  • Pellet Press (Safety Glasses)
  • Hand Tools (Proper Training)
  • Lab Equipment (Proper Training + Permission from Owner)
